Yuzvendra Chahal watched the Champions Trophy 2025 final between India and New Zealand from the stands. But his presence was not exactly the high point. Instead, it was the woman he was with who caused a lot of commotion in the Indian cricket community. During the first innings of the match, the cameras of the broadcasters panned in on Chahal during one of the overs.
Who is the mystery girl with Chahal?
The woman was identified as RJ Mahvash, a 28-year-old YouTuber. This comes amid rumours of the cricketer's separation from choreographer Dhanashree Verma. Numerous reports of the same have surfaced in the media over the past few months. But as of yet, no party has provided any confirmation.
India had restricted NZ on 251/7
Kuldeep had removed Rachin Ravindra on the opening delivery of the eleventh over. Kuldeep Yadav caught and bowled Williamson and dismissed him for 11 off 14 balls. After 12.2 overs, his wicket left NZ reeling at 75/3. Williamson's wicket put them on the defensive side.
Daryl Mitchell saved the day for New Zealand by playing a knock of 63 runs. He only hit three boundaries in his knock while batting for 101 balls. With 53 off 40 balls, Michael Bracewell was still undefeated. In his knock, the left-handed batsman smashed three boundaries and two sixes. Rachin got off to a fast start earlier in the innings, but he left for 37 off 29 balls. With 52 balls, Glenn Phillips scored 34 runs.
Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy both claimed two wickets. Kuldeep took crucial wickets of Rachin and Williamson, while Varun removed Will Youn and Phillips. Ravindra Jadeja bowled an outstanding 10-0-30-1 spell. Despite not taking a wicket, Axar Patel's 8-over spell just gave 29 runs.
Rohit gives India good start
India has surpassed the 50-run milestone in just 7.2 overs thanks to Rohit Sharma's rapid start in the chase for the target of 252. In his knock thus far, he has hit four boundaries and three sixes. Rohit will become the first skipper after MS Dhoni to win two ICC trophies if India wins the final.
