Harshit Rana's performance in this match earned him a unique distinction for India. He became the first Indian bowler to take three or more wickets on debut in all three international formats.  Rana had previously taken 3/33 against England in his T20I debut and also impressed in his Test debut during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where he picked up 3/48 in the first innings at Perth.
