Harshit Rana scripts history with three-fer on ODI debut, becomes first ever Indian bowler to unlock this milestone

Harshit Rana scripted history on his ODI debut for India, which came against England in the series opener in Nagpur on February 6.

In his dream debut he impressed with his bowling and took crucial three wickets which helped India bundle out England for just 248 runs.

Harshit Rana didn't get off to best of the start as he conceded 26 runs in his third over, where Phil Salt tonked him for three sixes and two fours.

However, Harshit Rana made a stunning comeback and later picked the wickets of Ben Duckett, Harry Brook, and Liam Livingstone to change the momentum of the match. Notably, the first two wickets came in the same over.

Harshit Rana's performance in this match earned him a unique distinction for India. He became the first Indian bowler to take three or more wickets on debut in all three international formats.  Rana had previously taken 3/33 against England in his T20I debut and also impressed in his Test debut during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where he picked up 3/48 in the first innings at Perth.

Harshit Rana's impactful show with the bowl helped India defeat England by 4 wickets in the first ODI to take 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
