IND vs ENG: Jos Buttler equals Nicholas Pooran's monumental feat against India with fighting fifty in first T20I

Jos Buttler on January 22 was the lone warrior against a potent Indian bowling attack. With a 44-ball 68 amidst collapse, Buttler equalled West Indies wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran's record for most fifty-plus scores against India in the format. 5. Former New Zealand batter Colin Munro has one century and three fifties against India. From 12 T20Is, the Kiwi batter has scored 426 runs at an average of 38.72. 
 

4. Australia's Glenn Maxwell has scored two centuries and half-centuries each against India in T20Is. He has 574 runs from 21 innings at an average of 31.88.
 

3. South Africa's Quinton de Kock has four fifties against India in T20Is as well. De Kock scored 351 runs from 10 innings at an average of 43.87.
 

2. England captain Jos Buttler has scored five fifties against India in T20Is. He has scored 566 runs from 20 innings at an average of 35.37. He has a chance to become the first batter to score 600 or more T20I runs against India.
 

1. West Indies' Nicholas Pooran has scored five half-centuries against India in T20Is. From 20 innings, the southpaw has scored 592 runs at an average of 32.88. He is also the highest run-scorer in the format against India.
 

Despite Buttler's 44-ball 68, England were bowled out for 132 after Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to bowl first. Only two other batters -- Harry Brook and Jofra Archer -- managed to score in double digits in the innings.
