Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez has strongly criticised former England skipper Michael Vaughan for his mocking comments regarding Pakistan's cricket team. Vaughan had made comments about Pakistan ahead of their match against New Zealand on November 3, insinuating that there might be internal problems in the Pakistan dressing room.

"I worry about Pakistan tomorrow. It's been too calm this last couple of days. They need someone to resign today or leak a whatsapp message," Vaughan had posted on 'X'.

Hafeez responded to Vaughan's remarks on a social media platform, telling him to stop meddling in others' issues and instead address the problems within his own camp.

"Better stop peeping into other's problem and sort out ur disputes first. We have sizeable insight about our issues and will surely resolve them @MichaelVaughan," Hafeez posted on 'X'.

Vaughan's comments were in response to the retirement announcement of England fast bowler David Willey, which led to speculation about the state of the England dressing room during their poor ODI World Cup campaign.

"I never wanted this day to come. From a young boy, I've only ever dreamed of playing cricket for England. So, with careful thought and consideration, it is with great regret that I feel the time has come for me to retire from all forms of International cricket at the end of the World Cup," Willey wrote in his post.

England, the defending champions, are currently at the bottom of the World Cup 2023 points table, while Pakistan holds the sixth position and still has a chance of making it to the semi-finals.

Hafeez's strong rebuke comes after Vaughan had previously criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) following the leaking of Pakistan skipper Babar Azam's personal WhatsApp chats online. These developments have added tension and scrutiny to the ongoing World Cup, with teams like Pakistan and England underperforming, while off-field controversies continue to make headlines.
