Former India captain and maverick bater, Virat Kohli took to social media on October 4 (Wednesday) and delivered a direct message to all his friends before the 2023 ODI World Cup commences on October 5 (Thursday). The superstar cricketer took to Instagram and asked all his friends to not ask him for match tickets and to enjoy the matches from the comforts of their home.

"As we approach the World Cup, I would humbly like to let all my friends know to not request me for tickets at all through the tournament. Enjoy from your homes pls," Kohli wrote on his Instagram story.

Reacting to Kohli's story, Anushka Sharma wrote, “and let me just add…don't request me to help if your messages get unanswered. Thank you for your understanding.”

The Indian cricket team is gearing up for a challenging yet exciting journey in the upcoming World Cup 2023. With the tournament set to kick off on October 8, Team India will start their campaign against Australia. The tournament follows a league format, featuring 10 teams that will all play each other once.

Team India World Cup 2023 matches will be spread across nine different cities. This makes India the most travelling team during the tournament. Notably, India is the only team that will not play twice in the same city during the league stage.

For the first time, India is hosting the 50-over Cricket World Cup alone, making this tournament even more special for the nation and its cricket fans. The extensive travel and diverse venues only add to the uniqueness of this edition.
