India’s women’s cricket team, led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, is set to begin its campaign in the DP World Women’s Asia Cup 2026 with a Group A clash against Thailand tomorrow evening. The T20 tournament, the 10th edition of the competition, is being held entirely at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. 

India, seven-time champions, have been drawn alongside Pakistan, Thailand and Hong Kong. The Tigresses have been one of the most dominant teams in women’s T20 in the last decade. However, their recent performances have raised questions over their consistency. It remains to be seen how the team performs vs Thailand on Sunday.

Thailand opened the tournament with a narrow six-run victory over Hong Kong on Friday. India will next face Hong Kong on 3 September before a high-profile encounter with Pakistan on 5 September.
