The special charter plane AIC24WC, which stands for AirIndia Champions24WorldCup which was bringing home Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and other India cricket team members that won the prestigious T20 World Cup 2024 trophy after defeating South Africa in the Finals of the mega tournament. Team India was stuck in Barbados due to the Hurricane Beryl but BCCI arranged a special flight for their players and brought the heroes of Indian cricket safely back home.
16-hour long flight from Barbados to New Delhi
Team India's special flight touched down in New Delhi exactly at 6:05 AM on July 4. Right after the plane landed on Indian soil, there was an announcement on the flight saying “Welcome home World Champions”. The team's morale was extremely high despite being stuck in Barbados and the celebration did not even stop in the flight.

Team to meet PM Modi
Now that the team has arrived in Delhi in the morning, they will be heading towards their hotel and then the PMO house to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi around 9:30 AM. However, this is not the end of their plans as they will be taking a flight to Mumbai afterwards.
Victory parade in Mumbai
The Indian team will be doing a kilometer-long open bus victory parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium with the T20 World Cup trophy to celebrate the end of an 11-year-long trophy drought. This will be followed by a celebration and felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede in the evening.
Jay Shah and Rohit Sharma urge fans to join the victory parade
Both BCCI secretary Jay Shah and Indian captain Rohit Sharma have requested the fans to join them in their celebrations and the victory parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede as they celebrate the fampus victory in the Finals of the T20 World Cup 2024.
"Join us for the Victory Parade honouring Team India's World Cup win! Head to Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium on July 4th from 5:00 pm onwards to celebrate with us! Save the date! #TeamIndia," BCCI secretary Jay Shah wrote on Twitter
"We want to enjoy this special moment with all of you. So let's celebrate this win with a victory parade at Marine Drive & Wankhede on July 4th from 5:00 pm onwards. It's coming home," Rohit posted on 'X'.
