IND vs PAK: Lalit Modi slams ICC for India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024 ticket

Much-awaited ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to start from June 2 and the opener clash will be played between co-hosts USA and Canada at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas. India versus Pakistan Group A match will be the highlight of the tournament. Arch-rivals will play against each other on June 9 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Reportedly, the match tickets of India versus Pakistan clash are being sold for as high as 16,65,138 INR per seat in the Diamond club section. Former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi slammed the ICC for allegedly prioritising profits in the marquee event in USA.

"Shocked to learn that ICC is selling tickets for Diamond Club at $20000 per seat for the #indvspak WC game. The WC in the US is for game expansion & fan engagement, not a means to make profits on gate collections. $2750 for a ticket It’s just #notcricket #intlcouncilofcrooks,” Modi tweeted.

In the previous T20 World Cup clash between the two cricketing giants, India's star batter Virat Kohli helped the Men in Blue pull off a sensational win despite a batting collapse in the run chase at Melbourne Cricket Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.

Team India ahead of T20 World Cup 2024

Rohit Sharma & Co. are currently involved in the IPL. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will send their first batch of World Cup-bound players to the USA on May 25. Players who have completed their IPL duties will go in the first batch. Team India will also feature in the warm-up clash on June 1 against Bangladesh ahead of the marquee event. Team India will play their World Cup campaign opener clash against Ireland on June 05 in USA. 

Pakistan Cricket Team ahead of T20 World Cup 2024

On the other hand, Pakistan have not yet announced their squad for the World Cup and they are currently busy in the four-T20I series against England. PCB will reportedly announce their squad after playing 1st T20I in the ongoing series. Pakistan will play their World Cup opener clash against the USA on June 6.
