It was a day of celebration for India as the World champions finally returned home after winning the prestigious T20 World Cup 2024 title. The Men in Blue did a kilometer-long victory parade in the open bus from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium and this was followed by a celebration ceremony in Wankhede.
Fan throws cloth at Hardik Pandya
After the victory parade, a felicitation and celebration ceremony took place in the Wankhede. Then during the ceremony, the whole team also did a victory march all across the Wankhede Stadium, and during everyone was singing the ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’ song. The emotions and body language of the Indian players, especially Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya will give anybody goosebumps.
During, that march, a fan threw what appeared to be a shirt toward Hardik, which he caught with one hand. Only Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel seem to have noticed it as they were the ones walking right behind Pandya. Both burst into laughter after watching that and the whole clip is currently going viral on the internet.
Bumrah shuts down retirement talks
Jasprit Bumrah was the key player for India's T20 World Cup 2024 triumph. He also received the Player of the Series award for it and when asked about his retirement Bumrah clearly stated that it's far far away and said that he has just started.
"It feels amazing. This ground is amazing in my life. I came as an U19 kid. I have never seen anything like it. To experience this and the emotions after the game, I have never experienced it. I will count myself as lucky. The experienced players and the confidence that we had. The ability to grab the game by the scruff of their neck is simply magnificent. Our aim is to take Indian cricket forward. We have never won a World Cup before. This gives us more motivation," said Bumrah.
