Australian players drink beer from a shoe after T20 World Cup triumph

Following Australia’s maiden T20 World Cup triumph on Sunday, the Australian celebrations reached ecstasy with some high profile celebrations. Pictures shared on social media has seen the champagne celebrations go wild as players were seen celebrating with  beer and other fancy stuff.

 

Things went more bizarre later on as Matthew Wade, architect of Australia’s semi-final win against Pakistan was seen drinking beer from a shoe. The wicketkeeper-batsman was joined by Marcus Stoinis as he grabbed another shoe to have a sip of beer to celebrate the occasion. The drinking battle though looked like a boxing match as both were going one better with cans in the hand.

 

As millions around the world witnessed the occasion as Australia were superior in the final against New Zealand. Fans on social media applauded the celebrations and thought that the team deserved to have the blast of in Dubai.

 

With this win, Australia became the third team after India and West Indies to have a treble of 50-over World Cup, T20 World Cup and the Champions Trophy (CT). India were the first team to achieve this feat after winning the first T20 World Cup in 2007 followed by West Indies in 2012. 

 

Attention now shifts to the longer format for the T20 champions as Australia welcome England for the Ashes which starts on December 12 in Brisbane. It could be another feather in the cap for  Australia if they clinch the Ashes.
