Exclusive: Sunil Gavaskar passes massive verdict on rumours claiming 'rift' in Team India ahead of Sydney Test

Cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar passed the massive verdict on rumours claiming that there is a rift in the Indian dressing room after the Melbourne Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. There were reports that head coach Gautam Gambhir was not happy with the team's performance in the Boxing Day Test where Australia defeated India by 184 runs to take 2-1 lead in the five Test match series. 

However, former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar believes that there is no rift in the Indian dressing room these all are rumours made by the media. 

"There is no rift in the Indian dressing room. These all the rumours made by media" Gavaskar told Sports Tak. 

 

 

Earlier India's head coach, Gambhir also opened up on the same reports while addressing the media ahead of the Sydney Test. He said that there were some honest words inside the dressing room. He weighs in, calling "honesty" "extremely important" for the team to achieve great things.

"Those are just reports, that's not the truth and I don't think so I need to answer to any reports, to be honest. And there are some honest words. That's all I can say. And honesty is very important. Honesty is extremely important if you want to probably go on and achieve some great things," Gambhir said ahead of the Sydney Test.

India and Australia are currently in Sydney where both sides will lock horns against each other for the fifth Test. India captain Rohit Sharma will most likely to miss the Pink Test in Sydney. In the absence of Rohit, KL Rahul will open alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. The another major change will be in bowling where Prasidh Krishna set to replace injured Akash Deep. The upcoming Test match is important for India to seal their spot for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final set to take place in England later this year.
