The audacious shot leaves everyone stunned.

The Australian players were in a state of disbelief.

After Rishabh Pant performed a spectacular reverse scoop off Scott Boland and collapsed to the ground, the entire Adelaide audience was left in awe and the Australian team had a look of disbelief on their faces. Pant entered the ground after Virat Kohli's departure and cleared his intention on the first ball itself as he stepped forward and smashed a boundary off Scott Boland.

Pant's jaw-dropping shot

Pant opened his account with a stunning boundary that nearly crossed the boundary lane. His intentions were clear from the first ball itself but he left everyone stunned after attempting the bold shot on the third ball of the seventeenth over. Pant swiftly altered his position and played a right-handed batter's hook off the Australia pacer that went past slips and into the boundary after Boland had delivered a length delivery. The commentary box was in a state of amazement, and the entire audience was left speechless.

Commentators react to Pant's shot

Commentator Matthew Hayden made a remark about not knowing what the conventional players of the past would think of that shot.

"I don't know what the players from yesteryears would say about that," said Hayden.

After seeing the shot from Pant, Harbhajan Singh, who was in the Hindi commentary box, was at a loss for words.

During the 2021 series against England, Pant famously reverse-scooped James Anderson for a boundary, thus this is not the first time he has played such a bold shot against a pacer. After Australia took a 157-run lead thanks to a century from Travis Head, India is in trouble in the second innings.

At the end of day 2, India is reeling at 128/5 with Rishabh Pant and Nitish Reddy still on the pitch. The pair is India's last hope as they still trail behind by 29 runs. However, momentum shifts quickly when players come to bat again after stumps as seen in McSweeney's dismissal early on Day 2. Things won't be easy for Indian set batters when they take the field again on Day 3.
