Notably, Pant became the fastest to reach the landmark for India. While legendary wicketkeepers Syed Kirmani and MS Dhoni reached similar feats earlier in their careers, Pant accomplished this in a remarkably shorter span. MS Dhoni took 166 innings to record 256 catches throughout his career. Syed Kirmani, who represented India in 88 Test matches between 1976 and 1986, completed 160 catches in 151 innings before retiring from Tests. In contrast, Pant grabbed this milestone in just 86 innings.

If Rishabh Pant ends up taking 10 more catches, he will leapfrog Syed Kirmani to become the Indian wicketkeeper with second most catches in Tests.
