Jasprit Bumrah surpasses Ravichandran Ashwin to break this massive record with fifer against England at Lord's

Jasprit Bumrah picked up the 15th five-wicket haul of his Test career against England in the Lord's Test. The India seamer ripped apart England's batting order, getting big wickets of Joe Root, Harry Brook and Ben Stokes before dismissing tailenders Chris Woakes and Jofra Archer..

Bumrah's figures of 5/74 in England's first innings played a key role in bundling them out for 387. The 31-year-old followed that up by recording figures of 2/38 in the second innings. His tally for the series has now moved up to 12 scalps.

The five-wicket haul at Lord's saw Bumrah surpass Ravichandran Ashwin and become the bowler with the most fifers in WTC. The seamer is also the fifth-highest wicket-taker in the history of the tournament with a total of 168 scalps under his name so far.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if Bumrah will feature in the fourth Test in Manchester or not. Erarlier, India head coach Gautam Gambhir had firmly stated that the seamer will only be playing in three out of the five Tests against England as he needs to look after his body.  

Bumrah didn't feature for India in the second Test at Edgbaston so it is likely that he will dropped for one out of the remaining two matches against England. It will be interesting to see what decision the India team management takes regarding the seamer's participation in the remainder of the series.
