Day 2 of the fifth Test of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 was filled with aggression. After conceding plenty boundaries, Akash Deep managed to get the better of opener Ben Duckett who attempted a reverse-sweep and got caught by wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel. While Duckett told Deep "You can't get me out", the India pacer put an arm around him and said a few words after dismissing him. After the day's play, England assistant coach Marcus Trescothick that a few County players he has played with him would have reacted differently to the incident.

"He didn't really say too much. Strange, really. I don't think you really need to be putting your arm around someone, but nothing was really said, was it? You just don't really see it. Many in my time would have just dropped the elbow on him or something quite different.

"I don't think I've ever seen a bowler do that after getting someone out. Obviously, you see them having many words; you've seen it in this series on both sides. It was just different for me; I was just laughing and joking about it.

“It is what it is. You put your head down and walk off, your job is done at that point. There is no need to walk him off in that fashion,” said Trescothick in the press conference.
