New Zealand pacer Matt Henry has joined India's pace-bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah as the no.1 rankled ICC Test bowler in the latest rankings. Henry jumped six places after bagging 11 wickets in the second Test of the series against England at Kennington Oval, London.

The 34-year-old became the first Kiwi bowler in 36 years to take the no.1 spot. Before him only two BlackCaps pacers have achieved the feat. In 1947, Jack Cowie rose to the no.1 spot. Legendary Richard Hadlee held the no.1 spot from 1984 to 1990.
Bumrah may slip to no.2 by end of June
Henry and Bumrah have 870 rating points each, 32 more than next-placed Mitchell Starc. Henry will have a chance to leave Bumrah behind if he does well in the Test series decider against England at Nottingham, Trent Bridge, starting on June 25.

Bumrah hasn’t played a Test since the home Test series against South Africa last year. He was rested for the one-off Test against Afghanistan. He will be back in red-ball action in the Test series on Sri Lankan soil in August.
Meanwhile, Gus Atkinson slipped out of top 10 after missing the second Test due to nightclub incident. It has led to Nathan Lyon re-entering top 10.
Root back to no.1
Meanwhile, Joe Root has taken the top spot back from his teammate Harry Brook despite the defeat in the second Test. The stand-in captain Root registered scores of 46 ad 77 in losing cause. Brook scored 24 and 58 in the same Test. Root jumped two places, leading to Brook and Travis Head slipping to second and third place respectively.
There was one more change in top 10. Rachin Ravindra climbed two places to take the 10th spot as Alex Carey and Rishabh Pant moved to 11th and 12th respectively. Ravindra was dismissed for 33 and followed it up with a 76-run knock.
Daryl Mitchell scored a half-century in the second innings as well which helped him jump six places to 16th. Glenn Phillips' maiden Test century helped him move up eight places to take the 31st spot, his best Test rankings.
