As of now, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's hype has reached England's dressing room which is being claimed by star opener Jos Buttler, who witnessed the young opener's wrath in IPL while playing for Gujarat Titans (GT). Notably, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener scored his first hundred in IPL while playing against GT in the 2025 edition.

While appearing in Stuart Broad's For The Love of Cricket Podcast, the former England skipper claimed that the 15-year-old opener might play his maiden international match, as it is a long series of five matches.

"He might get his chance. Obviously, there are 5 games, so he could get an opportunity," said Buttler.

While continuing, Butler revealed that he had instructed the English bowlers to stay prepared with their plans while facing the aggressive left-handed batter, as it's almost guaranteed that he will look to aim for a big shot in the very first delivery.

"I told our bowlers that if he plays, he'll probably try to hit his very first ball for six, so they need to be ready with a plan," claimed Buttler.

England announce playing XI for first T20I vs India

Ahead of the first game against India, which will be played on Wednesday, July 1 in Durham the English team has announced their playing XI with Harry Brook leading the side.

I told our bowlers that if he plays, he'll probably try to hit his very first ball for six, so they need to be ready with a plan.
