Vaibhav Sooryavanshi impresses with stunning catch and two sixes on T20I debut.

Jacob Bethell's unbeaten 76 powers England to four wicket win over India.

In a series of interesting events, teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made his international debut for India in the second T20I against England on Saturday, July 4 at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Stretford. However, his debut was spoiled by England's four wicket win while chasing 191 runs.

England's Jacob Bethell, took the game away from India after scoring an unbeaten knock of 76 runs off just 46 deliveries. The star left-handed batter smashed five boundaries and five sixes at an attacking strike rate of 165.22. Notably, Bethell built a crucial stand of 67 runs with Tom Banton which played a key role in England's win.

Sooryavanshi's brilliant fielding

Despite the loss, Vaibhav had something to remember from his maiden international game, as he grabbed an amazing catch to remove England's star all-rounder Sam Curran from the crease. During the 18th over, Curran lofted Harshit Rana for a six, but the contact was not enough to earn him a maximum. Deployed at the boundary lines, Vaibhav grabbed a brilliant catch to dismiss Curran. However, by the time Curran's wicket arrived, the game was almost over for the English side as they claimed the win with six balls remaining.

Here is the video of Vaibhav's amazing piece of fielding:

How did Vaibhav's India debut go?

After warming the bench for three games, Vaibhav made his way into the playing XI by replacing Sanju Samson in the second T20I against the Three Lions. After being asked to bat first, Vaibhav opened the innings for India with Abhishek Sharma. Vaibhav managed to amass 14  runs off 10 balls before losing his wicket off Will Jacks' bowling. Despite having a short stay at the crease, Vaibhav managed to hit two sixes and one of them came against a premier pace like Jofra Archer.

Those two sixes from Vaibhav is proof of his immense talent in batting. After this game the 15-year-old opener will only get better with time, as he will get a proper understanding of the international matches.

England's comfortable run chase

In response, England got off to a shaky start, with Arshdeep Singh dismissing Phil Salt and Jos Buttler on cheap scores. However, Harry Brook played a counter-attacking knock of 39 runs off just 15 balls before Axar Patel, who was India's standout bowler with 1/19, cut short his charge. Jacob Bethell then took control of the chase, staying not-out on 76 off 46 and stitching a key 67-run partnership with Tom Banton, who scored 39.

India tried to tighten their grip over the game, but Ravi Bishnoi's expensive 17th over, worth 29 runs and consisting of two no-balls, took the game away from the  Men in Blue before Bethell finished it off with an over remaining.
