India's new batting sensation Rinku Singh continued to impress with an unbeaten half-century in the second of the three-T20I series against South Africa. Rinku smashed a massive six in the penultimate over bowled by South Africa captain Aiden Markram which broke the glass in the commentary box at St. George’s Park, Gqeberha on December 12.
Despite one over each left from Marco Jansen, Lizaad Williams, Andile Phehlukwayo's quota of four overs, Markram brought back himself into the attack for the 19th over considering two left-handed batters Rinku and Ravindra Jadeja in the middle. For the first four deliveries, the move seemed to be paying off.

On the fifth delivery, Rinku danced down the track and reached the ball to hit it over long on for a massive six. Next ball, he went down the track again and hit the ball over the sight screen as the ball broke the glass of the commentary box.
The photo of the broken glass has been making rounds on social media.
Batting at no.5, Rinku once again showed why he deserves a place in India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad. He remained unbeaten for 68 off 39 balls including nine fours and two sixes. His knock helped India post 180/7 from 19.3 overs before rain played spoilsport.
Earlier, Rinku walked out to bat in the sixth over after Tilak Varma was dismissed by Gerald Coetzee. He got off the mark with a boundary straightaway. He played second fiddle to Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav till the 10th over. After Suryakumar reached his half-century, Rinku went after Jansen hitting him for two consecutive fours. He hit Phehlukwayo for three fours in the 13th over. After Suryakumar's wicket, he gave a similar treatment to Williams. He reached his half-century from 30 balls in the 16th over.
This was Rinku's maiden T20I fifty. His previous best score of T20I career came against Australia. He scored 46 runs from 29 balls in Raipur in a winning cause.
