Both Indian men and women refused to collect the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi as he was presenting the Asia Cup title. Recently, Indian women won the record-extending eighth Asia Cup title but didn't collect it from Naqvi, just as the men's team did back in September last year. Meanwhile, the BCCI secretary has a very bold promise, and it seems like the teams will be receiving their trophies soon.

Devajit Saikia has expressed optimism that the Board of Control for Cricket in India will soon receive both the men’s and women’s Asia Cup trophies. Saikia described the decision as a conscious institutional one, communicated to the ACC in advance. He stressed that participation in the multinational tournament and the manner of receiving the trophy are separate matters, noting the prevailing circumstances and public sentiments in India.
Kaif, as he told the Times of India, said:
“At some stage, we will get both trophies back.”
The trophies have yet to be formally handed over and are currently held by the ACC. The BCCI has indicated it will pursue their retrieval through appropriate channels while maintaining its position on the presentation process.
