Virat Kohli's big revelations from the first conference after getting sacked as ODI captain has created ripples ahead of South Africa tour. Kohli cleared the air over alleged rift with new ODI skipper Rohit Sharma saying that he is tired of clarifying this again and again for the past two and a half years. Few hours after Kohli's sensational press conference, teammate Ravindra Jadeja posted a picture tweet that read, “Fake friends believe in rumors. Real friends believe in you”.

On the other hand, the tweet comes after Jadeja was ruled out of the South Africa Test series due to injury in right forearm which also prevented him from playing in second Test against New Zealand at Wankhede stadium. Jadeja alongside three more injured cricketers – Shubman Gill, Axar Patel and Rahul Chahar – were ruled out of the SA tour as well.

"Jadeja has obviously been a very, very important play for us. He contributes in all three departments of the game, which is invaluable especially in overseas conditions. He will be missed," the 33-year-old had said on Jadeja's absence from South Africa tour..

"But having said that, we do have quality in the side to be able to create the best combination possible on the field for us and still be in positions to win Test matches because we have created that kind of bench strength and environment where people coming in are seizing their opportunity and making sure the team is helped by their performances.

"As much as we will miss him, I don't think that will be a deciding factor in the series or moving forward. He is injured and I wish him a speedy recovery and that he comes back soon," he added.

Meanwhile, there have also been reports that Jadeja intends to quit the longest format of the game to prolong his white-ball career. However, the all-rounder and the board is yet to deny or confirm the news so far.

In the Kanpur Test, the southpaw contributed with a half-century in the first innings followed by five wickets in both innings including a four-fer on Day 5 where New Zealand managed to draw the Test.

Jadeja's Test record since 2019

Since January 2019, Jadeja has been one of the top performers for India in Test cricket. He has 791 runs from 17 innings during this period with an average of 39.55 including eight half-centuries. On the other hand, he has taken 42 wickets at an average of 30.71. However, he does not have a single five-wicket haul during this period.
