IND vs ZIM: India opt to bat against Zimbabwe in 3rd T20I, Prince Yadav, Shivam Dube out, know playing XIs

With series already in pocket, India won the toss and elected to bat first against Zimbabwe in the third and final T20I in Harare on July 27.

India made two changes to their playing XI for the dead rubber. Prince Yadav and Shivam Dube made way for Ashok Sharma and Suryansh Shedge. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe brought in Wellington Masakadza in place of Richard Ngarava.

What did the captains say at the toss?

After winning the toss India captain Shreyas Iyer opted to bat first on a pitch being reused from the previous day. Expecting the surface to slow down as the match progresses, Iyer emphasised the need for his side to adapt quickly and set a competitive total. He also announced two changes to the playing XI, bringing in Ashok for Prince and Suryansh in place of Shivam Dube.

Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza admitted he would have also chosen to bat had the toss gone his way. Taking personal accountability, Raza noted that his team needed more run contribution from him at the top. Zimbabwe was forced into a late change due to a morning injury, with Wellington Masakadza stepping in for Richard Ngarava, who was sidelined with a niggle.
