Reddy to leave ODI squad early
India’s pace-bowling all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is available for the ODI series opener against New Zealand. After that, he will be released from the ODI squad to play the third and final four-day game against New Zealand A, which will feature several Test players from the senior Kiwi side.
"Nitish will link up with the India A squad for the third and final four-day game against New Zealand A, which will help him gain match practice ahead of the two-match Test series against New Zealand, starting November 19, 2026," the BCCI said in a statement on October 30.
The selectors have not named a replacement for Reddy for the last four ODIs. The third four-day game is scheduled to begin on November 7 in Lincoln.
The announcement points at team management being in favour of playing Reddy as a fast-bowling all-rounder in the two-Test series which begins on November 19 in Wellington.
