On April 21, Gujarat Titans secured their fourth win of the season against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) by three wickets. Rahul Tewatia played a pivotal role in this victory with an unbeaten cameo knock of 36 runs off 18 balls. Tewatia, known for his finishing prowess, has been instrumental for the franchise. Earlier in the season, in a match against the Rajasthan Royals, he guided the team to victory with a quickfire 22 runs off just 11 balls, partnering with Rashid Khan.
With GT chasing a target of 143, they found themselves at 103/4 in 15.2 overs. Tewatia joined the fray and propelled his team to victory with a match-winning 36 runs from 18 balls, including seven fours, finishing the game in 19.1 overs. Post-match, Tewatia credited his success to the practice of such scenarios during nets.
"We practice these situations only in the nets (chuckles). We practice the same role given to us by the team. If we can nail the role, then what's better than that?" Tewatia told Star Sports.

Expressing confidence despite losing wickets, Tewatia mentioned that he believed GT could chase down the target, especially with Shahrukh Khan and Azmatullah Omarzai yet to bat. He highlighted his aggressive approach against Harpreet Brar, scoring 13 runs off his over. Subsequently, Tewatia capitalised on Kagiso Rabada's over, smashing three boundaries, while Shahrukh Khan added a six to the mix.
Rahul Tewatia has emerged as a reliable finisher for the GT franchise, amassing 224 runs in ten successful run chases, boasting a strike rate of 163.50 and an impressive average of 112. His highest score stands at 43 not out, and he has struck 26 fours and nine sixes during his impactful innings.
"After me, we had a bit of batting to come. Shahrukh Khan was there, and Azmatullah Omarzai was batting alongside me. We had the belief," Tewatia said.
"There was not much turn visible for the spinners. When the left-arm spinner (Harpreet Brar) came into the attack, I targeted him," he added.
