LSG assistant coach Sridharan Sriram said that his team is focused on winning the game in clash against SRH.

LSG will cross swords with SRH in the 57th match of the IPL 2024 on May 8.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 57th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad on May 8. Ahead of the clash, LSG assistant coach Sridharan Sriram has said that his team is not worried about the SRH’s batting powerhouse but wants to focus on winning the game.

In the ongoing IPL, both teams have played 11 matches and are locked in at 12 points. SRH are currently at the fourth spot with -0.065 and LSG are at sixth position with -0.371. The SRH are still alive in playoffs race but find themselves in fierce competition with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

"I think we have got to focus on winning. The net run rate will take care of itself if we win. So, I don't think there has been any chat around net run rate. It is about how we beat the opposition and that is what matters on a given day," Sriram said at the pre-match press conference.

He also highlighted the performance of the team's spinners Ravi Bishnoi and Krunal Pandya. He added that they don’t really have reasons to worry about it.

"I think in general, spinners have had a tough time in this tournament. Wickets have been so good and the scores have been high. But, I think given our spinners, Ravi Bishnoi has bowled really well in the last couple of games. Krunal Pandya has been very good throughout, so I think we don't really have reasons to worry about it," Sriram added.

The former cricketer highlighted the importance of moving on from the big 98-run loss to KKR. During the game, Lucknow were dismissed for a paltry 173 while chasing a mammoth target of 236.

"Some games you are going to win big, some games you are going to lose.  And, there are going to be tight games. So, in a 14-game competition, I think you take every win and loss in the same way. I think we have got experienced enough players to deal with it. One game at a time, one venue at a time. Three away games are definitely challenging, but we are up for the challenge," Sriram concluded.
