CSK skipper MS Dhoni is gearing up for IPL 2024.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni sparked excitement on social media as he proudly displayed a 'Prime Sports' sticker on his bat. Reacting to this nostalgic gesture, Dhoni's childhood friend Paramjit Singh, the owner of the sports goods shop in Ranchi, revealed a touching story and a special gift he received from the former Indian cricket captain.

When Paramjit supported Dhoni at the onset of his cricketing career

For Dhoni, this moment symbolises a beautiful journey, as he received his first-ever bat sponsorship with Paramjit's support at the onset of his cricketing career in the early 2000s. With IPL 2024 speculated to mark Dhoni's final season, the veteran cricketer has commenced training with the 'Prime Sports' sticker, paying homage to their enduring friendship.

Paramjit expressed his joy at Dhoni's touching gesture, emphasising Dhoni's unwavering support over the years. Additionally, Dhoni gifted Paramjit a bat signed with a heartfelt message: "Best wishes Chotu Bhaiya," signifying their cherished bond.

Paramjit is proud of Dhoni

"I feel very proud of him. He has always been there for us. And this is our friendship. Friendship No.1 (Yaari No.1)," Paramjit told AajTak.

Dhoni's bond with his 'Chotu Bhaiya' was revealed to the public through his biopic, 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story.' The movie showcased Paramjit's support for Dhoni during the early stages of his career.

Even Australian batting legend Adam Gilchrist took notice of Dhoni's heart-winning act.

"I saw him hitting some balls in the nets, MS Dhoni. There's a new bat sticker on his bat. Just a local sports store of one of his schoolmates. Whack the company name on your bat just to give a boost to sales," Gilchrist said during Australia versus West Indies' second T20I commentary in Brisbane.

Will IPL 2024 be Dhoni's final show for CSK?

Dhoni has started gearing up for what might be his final season in the IPL. Under his leadership, CSK clinched their fifth title in IPL 2023. Following the victory, Dhoni vowed to his supporters that he would strive for a strong return in the forthcoming season, expressing gratitude for the immense support he's received throughout his career. Having undergone knee surgery, Dhoni is anticipated to make a full recovery in time for the 17th edition of the tournament.
