Former West Indies stars and close friends Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard were part of a special banter session when the two took a car ride together after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 final.

Bravo and Pollard were key members of their former IPL teams' respective coaching teams. Bravo, who was the bowling coach for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), argued over why he believed CSK is the most successful franchise in IPL history.

Pollard started by asking Bravo how he felt with five IPL titles, flaunting that he has had the same feeling for three years. Pollard played key roles in all five MI title triumphs as retired from the league as one of their greats.

Bravo added CSK's 2 Champions League titles to argue that his team was the most successful IPL side while Pollard did not like the comparison. Bravo also referred to his 17 titles in T20 tournaments and said that Pollard had two lesser. "Talking about franchise cricket, I have 17 trophies. How many do you have?" Bravo asked.

After Pollard said he hasn't kept count, Bravo said that his former teammate has only 15 and flaunted that he now has a trophy as a coach as well. "Put some respect on my name please," Bravo said as the two continued to have fun.

In his first stint as CSK coach, Bravo helped his team win their 5th title, equalling Mumbai Indians (MI) for the most IPL titles in their cabinet. Bravo's impact as the bowling coach of CSK was key as his partnership with Eric Simmons worked wonders for a young and inexperienced CSK bowling line-up.

CSK produced match-winners in their team, like 20-year-old Matheesha Pathirana and rookie Tushar Desphande, as the duo were among the leading wicket-takers for MS Dhoni-led side.

Meanwhile, Pollard joined MI as their batting coach as the side was not able to go past Qualifier 2 even after qualifying for the playoffs with an injury-hit squad.

CSK defeated Gujarat Titans in a thrilling IPL 2023 final which was extended to 2 days due to rain in Ahmedabad. Chasing a revised target of 171 in 15 overs, Ravindra Jadeja stole the show as he hit a six and a four when CSK needed 10 runs in the last 2 deliveries of the thriller at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
