The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were involved in a thrilling victory over the Lucknow Super Giabts, (GT) in their second Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match and one of their former players had high praise for his old team, especially for CSK skipper MS Dhoni and the rising star Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Ruturaj Gaikwad's contributions include consecutive half-centuries in the first two matches of IPL 2023, while Dhoni smashed consecutive sixes off the in-form Mark Wood's bowling. Sharing his thoughts about the match, he said, "It was a close match and yellow jerseys were everywhere. And those two sixes from MS Dhoni, maza aa gaya (enjoyed it a lot). It didn't seem that he was away from the game for so long."

Dhoni's return to the IPL has been highly anticipated by fans, and his performance in the match did not disappoint. His two sixes took CSK to 217 runs in the first innings, setting an unassailable target for their opponent's LSG.

"When Dhoni came out to bat, there was a buzz around the ground. Well done CSK and Dhoni for winning this match," Harbhajan said.

Meanwhile, Gaikwad is the leading run-scorer of IPL 2023 so far, with impressive knocks of 92 against GT and 57 against LSG. The off-spinner was also left impressed by Gaikwad's performance in the match and believes that Gaikwad's stroke-play makes batting look easy, even on a pitch that is slow and has long boundaries.

Adding that the young opener will 'rule this IPL', Harbhajan said, "Ruturaj is going to rule in this IPL. The way he is batting, you want him not to get out. He plays well through the covers, plays the pull shot well."

The CSK team's victory over LSG was hard-fought, with the match coming down to the final over. 'Impact Player' Tushar Deshpande was able to defend 27 runs, securing the victory for CSK.
