The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is alive and kicking. A total of 26 matches have been played in IPL 2023 and the franchises involved have provided immense entertainment to their loyal supporters. After 20 days of action in the cash-rich tournament, all teams are gearing up for the business end of the competition. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) stole two crucial points after registering a fabulous win over last year's runners-up Rajasthan Royals (RR).

When it comes to the race for Purple Cap, three bowlers are tied with 11 wickets while two bowlers are locked with 10 wickets each. Mark Wood currently occupies the top spot in the leading wicket-takers list.

1. Mark Wood: Lucknow Super Giants' overseas pacer has started the tournament in sublime form. Wood has 11 wickets in four matches. The right-arm pacer has accounted for one five-wicket haul as well.

2. Yuzvendra Chahal: Rajasthan Royals' leg-spinner has bagged 11 wickets in six matches. Chahal has accounted for one four-wicket haul in the competition this year.

3. Rashid Khan: The Gujarat Titans leg-spinner has accounted for 11 wickets in five matches and is third on the highest wicket-takers list.

4. Mohammed Shami: Gujarat Titans' premier pacer has bagged 10 wickets in five matches and currently occupies fourth place in the points table.

5. Tushar Deshpande: CSK's right-arm pacer has 10 wickets in five matches. The young pacer has an average of 20.90 with the ball.

6. Ravichandran Ashwin: Rajasthan Royals' veteran off-spinner has accounted for eight wickets in six matches.

7. Ravi Bishnoi: Lucknow Super Giants leg-spinner has bagged eight wickets in six matches. The young wrist spinner has been a revelation for the Lucknow-based franchise this season so far.
