As of May 7, MS Dhoni holds a remarkable record of 153 catches and 47 stumpings in the IPL, totaling 200 dismissals. This combined figure of 200 is the highest number of dismissals by any wicketkeeper in the history of the tournament. Individually, both his number of catches and stumpings are among the highest recorded by a wicketkeeper in the IPL. Following Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik holds the next best record for dismissals by a wicketkeeper; however, Karthik retired from the IPL after the previous season with Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
