The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took an unprecedented step and announced the dates for the next three seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Under the list, the upcoming IPL 2025 will start from March 14 and its final will be played on May 25. This tournament is to start right after the Champions Trophy 2025. This ICC event is proposed from February 19 to March 9. BCCI also announced the dates of IPL 2026 and IPL 2027. The 2026 season is to start from March 15 and its final is proposed on May 31. The 2027 event will start from March 14 and run till May 30. This is the first time that BCCI has announced the dates of three seasons of IPL simultaneously.
According to sources close to Sports Tak, BCCI informed all the franchises on November 22 about the schedule of the upcoming three seasons of IPL. Till now it was seen that the IPL schedule was released very late and there was a lot of curiosity about it. There will be 74 matches played in IPL 2025.
There were the same number of matches in the last three seasons. However, when the IPL media rights were sold in 2022, it was told that 84 matches would be played from the 2025 season. But this is not happening. The same number of matches were kept in 2026 as well. Information was given to hold 94 matches in 2027. All boards approved the availability of players
All the big countries have expressed the availability of their players for the upcoming three seasons of IPL. These include England, Australia, South Africa. Under this, all the boards have told when and how their players will be available in the upcoming season. For example, Australia said that all its players have NOC for the 2025 season.
In 2026, Australia has a three-match ODI series with Pakistan which will end on March 18. The players involved in this series will join immediately after this. In 2027, Australian players will join after playing a match with England on the 150th anniversary of Test cricket.
