Rajasthan Royals' teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi again proved himself with another stellar knock of 78 runs of 26 balls in an IPL 2026 clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The young opener seemed well prepared against the experienced bowlers like Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, attacking them without having a second thought.

Batting first RCB managed to post 201/8. But Sooryavanshi's explosive start made the target look miniscule with his 78 runs off 26 balls, consisting eight fours and seven sixes, meanwhile Dhruv Jurel also played a great knock of 81 runs off 43 balls. With a great batting display, Rajasthan eventually chased down the target with six wickets in hand and 12 balls to spare.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi receives special gift from Virat Kohli

After the game, Sooryavanshi got a special gift from India's chase master, Virat Kohli. The 15-year-old approached Kohli for an autograph, in return the former India skipper fulfilled his request along with a special message on Sooryavanshi's cap.

"Dear Vaibhav, well done," wrote Kohli on Royals' cap.

It may look like any other simple message, but coming from someone like Virat Kohli feels like a big motivation to do well in the future with more hard work and dedication towards the sport.

In the IPL 2026 season, the 15-year-old batter has managed to score 200 runs for Rajasthan Royals in just four games at an amazing strike rate of 266.67. Kicking off the campaign with a 15-ball half-century against Chennai Super Kings in their campaign opener, followed with two rapid knocks of 31 off and 39 off 14 against Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians respectively.

After his player-of-the-match innings against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, He holds the Orange Cap with 200 runs so far in the tournament, closely followed by teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal with 183 runs.

Rajasthan Royals' strong start in IPL 2026

Rajasthan Royals have kicked off the IPL 2026 season in dominant fashion, winning their first four consecutive games to sit at the top of the points table with eight points in hand and a high NRR of +2.055. The Riyan Parag-led side will lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next game on Monday, April 13 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. It will be interesting to see if the Royals can continue their winning streak against the Sunrisers.
