Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) kept their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 playoffs chances alive with a 14-run win over Delhi Capitals (DC). However, speculations of controversy took centre stage as video of DC's Kuldeep Yadav slapping KKR's Rinku Singh just before the post-match presentation went viral on social media. KKR dismissed all speculations with a video of the two at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.Β

The reel had old videos of Kuldeep and Rinku. In one of the videos, they can be seen together at the hospital. Not just for the Indian team, the two shared the KKR dressing room as well.Β
Kuldeep's long stint at KKR
Kuldeep played from KKR from 2016 edition to 2020/2021. He was roped in by DC in the IPL 2022's mega auction. The left-arm chinaman bowler has 46 wickets from 50 matches for KKR. On the other hand, Rinku did not make his IPL debut for KKR until the 2018 edition.Β
Rinku attacks Kuldeep before slog overs
In the match on April 29, Rinku took on Kuldeep in the 15th over, hitting him for two fours and a six. He contributed with a 25-ball 36 in KKR's score of 204/9. Kuldeep remained wicketless and conceded 27 runs from three overs. After the expensive 17-run over, Axar Patel did not give him the ball in the slog overs.
Kuldeep and Rinku's form
Kuldeep has been in fine form this season taking 12 wickets from 10 games. His economy rate is expressive as he has conceded less than seven runs per over.Β
On the other hand, Rinku is regaining his form. He 169 runs from 10 innings at an average of 33.80. His strike rate is 145.68. The southpaw is yet to score a fifty this season.
