The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match no. 41 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad will feature players and umpires wearing black armbands, condemning the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.
A one-minute silence will be observed for the killing of at least 26 civillians in south Kashmir's premier tourist location. There will not be any fireworks or cheerleaders dancing at the venue either.
Here's how India head coach and cricketers condemned the terrorist attack
"Praying for the families of the deceased. Those responsible for this will pay. India will strike," India men's cricket team head coach posted on social media.
"Disturbing news about the attack in Pahalgam. Praying for all the victims and their families," MI's fast-bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah wrote on his X account.
"Devastated by the news from Pahalgam. My thoughts are with those affected and their families," MI skipper Hardik Pandya wrote on his Instagram story.
"Deeply saddened by the heinous attack in Pahalgam on innocent people. Heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. Praying for peace and strength to families of all those who lost their lives and justice to be served for this cruel act," Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) Virat Kohli wrote on social media.
"Strongly condemn this cowardly act by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists. India stands united with our brave Army, J&K Police, and Paramilitary forces in the fight against terrorism. Justice will prevail," said former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Suresh Raina.
"My heart goes out to family members of all those who lost their lives in dastardly attack. This can't be forgiven," former India spinner Harbhajan Singh wrote on social media.
"Shocked and angry to hear what happened in Kashmir. While those responsible will be punished, right now there's a numb disbelief at the terrible acts and the manner in which it all happened," wrote Gujarat Titans (GT) batting coach Parthiv Patel.
"Violence like this has no place in our country," GT captain Gill posted.
"Heartbreaking to hear about the tragic attack in Pahalgam. Innocent lives lost to senseless violence. Praying for strength and peace for the affected families. Let's stand together against hate," former India captain Anil Kumble wrote.
"A ghastly, cowardly act that should unite the nation fully, bar none," former India head coach Ravi Shastri wrote.
Cricketer-turned-politician Yusuf Pathan and his brother Irfan Pathan also expressed their grief.
"Every time an innocent life is lost, humanity loses," Irfan wrote.
"Such acts of violence have no place in our society. May peace prevail," added older brother Yusuf.
