The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has been suspended indefinitely due to the escalation on May 8 evening on the India-Pakistan border. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is ensuring overseas players, coaching staff and others reach home safely as tensions escalate between the two neighbouring countries following the Pahalgam terror attack. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is currently working on a window where they can hold the remaining 17 matches (including Dharamsala clash that was cancelled midway) of the IPL 2025 including two qualifiers, one eliminator and the final.
Considering the current circumstances, the Asia Cup 2025 which was to be played in the T20 format, will not take place. Sports Tak has learned that BCCI is looking to accommodate the remaining matches of the IPL 2025 during a two-week period.

India's schedule till October 2025
India are scheduled to tour England for a five-Test series starting June 20 The last Test will continue till August 4 if it concludes in five days. Then, India will tour Bangladesh for limited overs series from August 17 to August 31. Before hosting West Indies for a two-Test series starting October 2. The IPL 2025 can take place in the time between India's tour of Bangladesh and the two-Test series against West Indies at home.
When IPL 2021 was played in two separate windows
This won't be the first time the IPL will be played in two separate windows. In 2021, the IPL was suspended indefinitely due to rising numbers of Covid-19 in the country. The last match of the first leg was played on May 2 before the Covid-19 outbreak led to the tournament coming to a halt. The second leg of the tournament was played in the UAE from September 19 to October 15, 2021.
