Australia clinched the three-match ODI series in emphatic fashion, handing India a five-wicket defeat on February 27. The day clearly belonged to Georgia Voll, whose scintillating century proved to be the decisive factor in securing the win for the home side.
India, batting first, managed a respectable total of 251 for nine. The innings was anchored by solid contributions from skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, who struck 54 off 70 balls, and Pratika Rawal, who added a steady 52 off 81. Despite their efforts, Australia’s bowling attack remained disciplined throughout the innings, with Ashleigh Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, and Alana King each claiming two wickets to stifle the Indian momentum.
In their pursuit of the target, Australia wasted no time. Opener Phoebe Litchfield set the tempo early with a rapid 80 off just 62 deliveries, allowing Voll to take full control. Voll dismantled the bowling attack with a masterful 101 off 82 balls, powering Australia across the finish line in a mere 36.1 overs.
With the series now locked up, the two teams will face off one final time for the third ODI, scheduled for on March 1.
