New Zealand need 107 runs to win.

Will O'Rourke reflects on the job at hand.

William O'Rourke stated that the Kiwis will have to work hard to win on Day 5 of the first Test match between New Zealand and India at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Devon Conway and Tom Latham were the overnight batters when play was halted after just four balls in the Black Caps' innings, with 107 needed to win.

In addition, the Kiwis want to win their first Test match since 1989 on Indian soil. By no means does O'Rourke want New Zealand to undercut India, even though in their Test history they have only once successfully defended a target of 107 or less.

"I wouldn't say it's an easy win from here. We've got a world-class team going up against us. But we've got to be confident going out there tomorrow. Hopefully, for our sake the rain stays away and we get a chance to have a crack at it," O’Rourke said in the press conference after play on Day 4.

William O'Rourke on getting Virat Kohli's wicket

O’Rourke managed to get the crucial wicket of Virat Kohli in the first innings and the speedster sent him back without allowing him to score a single run.

“It's obviously pretty special getting someone so great, one of the greats of our game, out like that. Obviously, you grow up watching those guys. So, to come here and take that wicket, it's probably right up there,” O’Rourke said.

Sarfaraz Khan and Rishabh Pant were also praised by O'Rourke for their impressive performances, which helped India post 462 in the second innings after being bowled out for 46 in the first. Pant was out for 99 while Sarfaraz scored 150.

“I've been pretty hot and cold with the ball. Pant and Sarfaraz have batted very well for a long time, but that second new ball started doing a little bit for us,” O’Rourke added.
