Rohit Sharma becomes the first opener with 329 sixes.

Former India captain Rohit Sharma made history during the first ODI against New Zealand at the Baroda Cricket Association Stadium in Vadodara. The 38-year-old opener became the player with the most sixes as an opener in ODI cricket.

Chasing 301, Rohit opened the innings alongside captain Shubman Gill. After a slow start, he hit his first six in the sixth over off Ben Foulkes, and followed it up in the next over by sending a Kyle Jamieson delivery over the boundary. With this, Rohit also reached 650 sixes in international cricket, becoming the first player ever to reach this milestone.

Rohit, however, couldn’t convert the start into a big score and was dismissed in the ninth over by Jamieson, scoring 26 runs off 29 balls, including three fours and two sixes.
