The former England batter played a gritty knock for the Trinbago Knight Riders and it saw him equal Gayle's record of fifties in the shortest format

Alex Hales scored a gritty half-century to ensure that the Trinbago Knight Riders emerged victorious over the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025. The former England batter remained unbeaten on 55 runs from 46 deliveries, guiding the side to a comprehensive 8-wicket win.

Hales maintained a decent strike-rate of 119.57 in his unbeaten knock which included six boundaries. He formed a massive 87-run partnership with Keacy Carty, who also scored a half-century. This stand massively helped the Knight Riders in easily chasing down the target of 147 with eight deliveries left to spare.

This was Hales' 88th half-century in T20 cricket and it saw him equal Chris Gayle as the player with the fifth-most fifties in the history of the format.
