Kieron Pollard leaves behind Shimron Hetmyer on elite list with explosive half-century in CPL 2025
The former West Indies all-rounder played a fiery knock of 65 runs from 29 deliveries against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Premier League

Legendary West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard scored an explosive 21-ball half-century for the Trinbago Knight Riders against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The 38-year-old was eventually dismissed after playing a knock of 65 which included two boundaries and eight towering sixes.

Pollard showed no mercy to the opposing bowlers and smacked them all around the Brian Lara stadium. Thanks to his knock, the Trinbago Knight Riders ended up posting a fighting total of 179/6 in 20 overs. The side would eventually go on to defend the target of 180 by restricting their opponents to 167/6.

The half-century against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots was Pollard 16th 50+ score in the CPL and it saw him overtake Shimron Hetmyer on an elite list. The former is now the player with the eighth-most 50+ scores in the tournament's history.

Pollard is nothing short of a legend when it comes to the CPL. The all-rounder is the third-highest run-scorer in the history of the league with a total of 3032 runs under his name in 132 matches. The 38-year-old is also the player with the most sixes in the competition's history with 212 maximums under his name so far.

Pollard's numbers in T20 cricket are also highly impressive. He is currently the second-highest run-scorer in the history of the shortest format with 14,077 runs under his name so far in 714 matches. The all-rounder is also the player with the second-most maximums in T20s and has so far hit 950 sixes. He is behind his former West Indies teammate Chris Gayle on both the lists.
