With the investigation of his bust-up with Musheer Khan still ongoing, Prithvi Shaw has found a place in Maharashtra's squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season. The batter who played an incredible knock of 181 in a recent warm-up match against Mumbai, will be hoping to continue his sensational form in the domestic tournament.
This comes amid the investigation of Shaw's heated verbal spat with Musheer Khan that had occurred during the warm-up match. The incident is being looked at by former India cricket Dilip Vengsarkar, who will talk to both the players during Mumbai's Ranji team selection.
Other notable inclusions in Maharashtra's squad
Meanwhile, Maharashtra have also decided to include Jalaj Saxena as a new addition into their squad. Another notable player in the squad is Ruturaj Gaikwad and the side will be captained by Ankeet Bawane. Arshin Kulkarni, who played an explosive inning of 186 in the Mumbai warm-up match has also found his place in the squad.
In their previous Ranji Trophy campaign, Maharashtra finished with two victories, two draws and three defeats. They ended the season places fifth in Elite Group A and didn't really have a campaign to remember. They will definitely be looking to do better this season.
Maharashtra have been placed in Group B alongside Kerala, Saurashtra, Chandigarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, and Goa. It will certainly be a big challenge for Ankeet Bawane and Co. to get through their group as it is stacked with great teams.
