Star all-rounder Anukul Roy performed brilliantly, taking a career-best eight wickets to bowl out Nagaland for 154 and shift the momentum of the game in Jharkhand's favour on Day 3 of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group A match at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi. 

The 26-year-old left-arm spinner finished with impressive figures of 8 for 55 as Nagaland were dismissed in 73.5 overs. Jharkhand then enforced the follow-on, and by stumps, Nagaland were 104 for 5 in 36 overs, still trailing by 252 runs against Jharkhand’s first-innings total of 510 for 8 declared.

Resuming from their overnight score of 510 for 8, Jharkhand declared before Anukul Roy took charge with the ball. He completely unsettled Nagaland's batters, as only five players managed to reach double figures. Chetan Bist top-scored with an unbeaten 46.

Nagaland had started well with openers Sedezhalie Rupero (33) and Nischal (41) putting up a 61-run partnership. However, once Roy dismissed Rupero in the 36th over, the rest of the batting fell apart quickly. Sushant Mishra and Manishi took one wicket each to support Roy.

In their second innings, Nagaland’s struggles continued. They lost half their side within 36 overs. Captain Rongsen Jonathan fought hard with a half-century before being bowled by Roy, who also dismissed Imliwati Lemtur.

Manishi once again struck early, removing openers Nischal and Rupero, and later getting rid of Bist.

At the close of play, Yugandhar Singh was on 4 and Hem Chetri on 6, with Nagaland still facing a huge task to avoid defeat.
