Ayush Mhatre-led India Under-19 registered a dominating 90-run win against Pakistan in the dominant Group A clash of the Under-19 Asia Cup. India's disciplined bowling, led by all-rounder Kanishk Chouhan and seamer Deepesh Devendran, bowled out the arch-rivals on 150.
India scored 240 runs
After being asked to bat, India posted 240 all out in 46.1 overs. Aaron George anchored the innings with a fluent 85, while captain Ayush Mhatre gave a brisk start, scoring 38 off 25 balls with four boundaries and three sixes. Kanishk Chouhan added a crucial 46, including three sixes late in the innings, helping India reach a strong total despite losing wickets at regular intervals.
Pakistan bowled on 150 runs
Chasing 241, Pakistan struggled from the start, slipping to 30 for four as Devendran struck early, picking up three quick wickets. Farhan Yousaf (23) and Huzaifa Ahsan (70 off 83 balls) tried to rebuild the innings, but India’s bowlers kept the pressure on. Chouhan’s off-spin was incisive, finishing with 3 for 33, while Devendran returned 3 for 16. Pakistan were eventually bowled out for 150 in 41.2 overs.
No handshake policy continues
India dominated throughout the match, with George, Chouhan, and Devendran all playing key roles in both batting and bowling. The match also followed the 'no-handshake' protocol, with players from both sides not shaking hands at the toss or after the game, continuing the practice observed by the Indian men’s team in the recent Asia Cup 2025.
