India will play a multi-format series against Australia

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced India's squads for the upcoming ODI and T20I series against Australia. The Women’s Selection Committee has finalised India’s squad for the tour of Australia starting from February 15, comprising three ODIs, three T20Is and one Test. However they are yet to reveal the Test squad.

The T20I roster is highlighted by the return of batter Bharti Fulmali, who earns her first call-up to the national side since 2019, alongside the inclusion of talented off-spinner Shreyanka Patil. In a move toward youth, the ODI squad will feature two fresh faces: 17-year-old wicketkeeper G Kamalini and left-arm spinner Vaishnavi Sharma. Both players have been rewarded with their maiden ODI selections following their impressive debuts in the T20I series against Sri Lanka last December.

While the ODI squad gained depth with the addition of Kashvee Gautam, the selection committee made some tough calls by dropping pacer Arundhati Reddy and left-arm spinner Radha Yadav. For Radha Yadav, this follows a recent trend, as she also lost her position in the T20I lineup.

Tactical shifts were also evident in the white-ball transition, as Harleen Deol finds herself in a split role. While she remains a key part of the ODI setup for the Australian tour, she has been omitted from the T20I squad as the selectors look to refine their shortest-format combinations.
