December 8, 2024, might be the toughest day to be an Indian cricket fan as they had to witness their team suffer three brutal losses on a single day within 6 hours. First, it was the senior men's team that faced a reality check at the hands of the Australian side after suffering an embarrassing 10-wicket loss in the 2nd Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test, then a couple of hours later Indian women's cricket team suffered a similar hammering on another part of the same continent as Australian women's team defeated them by 122 runs to clinch the three-match series 2-0. Then to add salt to the wound, India's U19 team who was in the final of the ACC U19 Asia Cup faced a 59-run loss against Bangladesh.

Australia thrash India by 10 wickets in Adelaide Test

Team India came into this match riding on a massive 295-run victory in Perth. However, a lot appeared to be changed in the break as the Indian batting that dominated the Perth game could not withstand the Aussie pace attack led by Mitchell Starc, who picked 8 wickets across two innings which also included a 6-fer.

Later, Travis Head's 140-run knock ensured that Aussies stayed in the driver's seat. He also received the Player of the Match for this inning. Indian batters failed to perform in the second innings as well after Pat Cummins' fifer broke their back. Australia only had a 19-run target in the final innings which they chased down without losing a single wicket.

India women suffer 122-run loss against Australia women

Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian women's cricket team suffered a massive 122-run defeat at the hands of Tahlia McGrath's Australia side. The hosts have now clinched the series 2-0 after this stunning victory. First Georgia Voll and Ellyse Perry's centuries stole the show and later Annabel Sutherland's performance with the ball put a seal on it. Australia posted 371/8 on board which is the highest score posted by a team against India in WODI. In reply to this mountain of a score, the Women in Blue got out for just 249 runs.

Bangladesh beat India to win U19 Asia Cup second consecutive time

India's final loss of the day came in the ACC U19 Asia Cup 2024 where Bangladesh defeated India by 59 runs to win the title for the second consecutive time. India started well with the ball and restricted Bangladesh to 198 runs but later got all out on just 139 runs.

Indian cricket team suffered three big defeats across three huge clashes. The campaign has ended for the U19 side but the senior men and women's team will be looking forward to bouncing back in their next clashes against Australia.
