To develop and groom Australia's next generation of fast bowlers, Cricket Australia has named Adam Griffith as its new national pace bowling coach. Given that Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc are all over 30, Griffith would be responsible for preparing the upcoming group for bigger assignments like Test cricket.

As per ESPN Cricinfo, "The role was first advertised back in October as an Australia-based position to oversee the management of fast bowlers across international and domestic programmes, in a bid to prevent the spate of injuries that have been occurring and ensure a more coordinated approach to the handling of Australia's quicks."

46-year-old Griffith will be working under current bowling coach Daniel Vettori and Australia men's head coach Andrew McDonald. Additionally, he will report to Ben Oliver, CA's head of national teams, with whom he previously collaborated in Western Australia.

In addition to coaching Tasmania and the BBL franchise Hobart Hurricanes, Griffith is now the bowling coach for Victoria. Additionally, he has served as a bowling coach for the MLC's San Francisco Unicorns and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). In addition, he has also been part of brief stints with the Australian men's squad at the 2019 ODI World Cup and bilateral touts in 2012 and 2016.
