In the modern world, pre-nup agreements are common. Not just financial, bride and groom have various clauses in the agreement before they get married. However, a professor at Theni, Tamil Nadu, had a bizarre deal in his pre-nup agreement. In a cricket-crazy nation where playing cricket on weekends is very common, groom’s friends got a contract signed by the bride before the wedding to allow him to play on weekends.
Apparently, Hariprasad is the captain of a SuperStar cricket team. His friends brought along a Rs 20 stamp paper at the ceremony.
“I, Pooja, hereby allow Hariprasad to play cricket on Saturday and Sunday for the SuperStar Cricket team," the contract read.
The bride, Pooja, could not control her laughter as she posed for photographs with the contract. As she signed the contact, the groom's friends laughed as well. Also, they were relieved that their captain will be available for matches even after getting married.
The photos and videos of the quirky contract have been going viral on the internet.
People on social media are impressed the groom’s friends as it often happens, many men stop or reduce engaging in sports activities once they get married.
Over the last few years, corporate cricket has grown too. Metros have more grounds in outskirts and even live scoring and live streaming is available which has led to an increased interest.
