Andre Siddarth once against proved his batting might, this time with a spectacular century for TNCA President's XI in the Buchi Babu Trophy 2025 clash against Maharashtra. At just 18 years of age, Andre Siddarth has announced his arrival in domestic cricket with a sensational start to his first-class career for Tamil Nadu. Across his first eight matches, the young batsman has already accumulated 612 runs in 12 innings at an outstanding average of 68, a tally that includes five fifties and one century. This prolific form naturally drew the attention of IPL franchises, and it was no surprise when he was acquired by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for his base price of Rs 30 lakh in the 2025 auction.
Andre Siddarth's solid century in Buchi Babu Trophy
While Siddarth did not get a chance to make his IPL debut, he has continued to demonstrate his immense potential in the ongoing Buchi Babu Trophy 2025. Representing the TNCA President's XI, he crafted a magnificent century against Maharashtra in the tournament's second round. His commanding innings of 111 from just 142 balls was a powerful display of stroke-making, embellished with 15 fours and four sixes at the Gojan Cricket Ground B in Tamil Nadu.
His innings proved to be pivotal, as he came to the crease with his side in a precarious position at 13/2. Siddarth first anchored the recovery by building a crucial 144-run partnership for the third wicket with his captain, Pradosh Ranjan Paul (76). He then accelerated the scoring in a rapid 73-run stand with fellow centurion Baba Indrajith (104), which came off just 60 balls. These partnerships were instrumental in powering the team to a formidable total of 384/9 by stumps on the first day. This century marks a significant return to form for the youngster within the tournament. In the previous round against Himachal Pradesh, he had modest scores of just 24 and 8.
