Mystery spinner Digvesh Rathi has reignited his rivalry with Priyansh Arya in the ongoing Delhi Premier League T20 2026. Dgivesh, who faced a one-match suspension’ for his ‘notebook celebration’ getting too close to the batters including Arya during send-off during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, did it again in DPL 2026 fixture on August 16 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

Outer Delhi Warriors' openers Arya and Yajas Sharma went berserk in the powerplay overs. When Purani Dilli 6 skipper Anuj Rawat introduced Rathi into the attack, Outer Delhi Warriors were 120 for no loss. He started with getting Arya's wicket on the first delivery. Arya went for the big shot but was caught at long-on by Rohan Rathi. Arya was walking back to the dugout when Rathi chased him instead of celebrating with his teammates. He pulled out the 'notebook' celebration again which may land him in trouble.
Digvesh ‘s economical spell amid carnage
Two balls later, he also got the wicket of a rampant Yajas who scored 86 runs from 36 deliveries, featuring 10 fours and five sixes. He conceded just one run in his first over and bagged a couple of wickets. In his third over, he knocked over Dhruv Singh as well. In his last over, he conceded the only six of his spell. He conceded 25 runs in his full quota of four overs.
Despite Digvesh's three-fer, Outer Delhi Warriors posted 219/5. Akshay Saini remained unbeaten for a 23-ball 49 whereas Harsh Tyagi contributed with a 15-ball 32.
Purani Dilli 6 lose
In the run chase, Purani Dilli lost the plot in the middle overs. Openers Aryan Gaur and Samarth Seth shared a 104-run partnership in 8.4 overs. Seth departed for a 24-ball 42. Gaur was dismissed by Aman Chaudhary for a 37-ball 65. Chaudhary went on to claim a four-wicket haul whereas Tyagi bagged three. In the penultimate over, Tyagi conceded just two runs and bagged two wickets. Pankaj Jaswal hit three sixes but Purani Dilli 6 could post 198/6, losing the match by 21 runs.
After the win, Outer Delhi Warriors are placed second on the points table with 11 points, followed by Purani Dilli 6. Both the teams are in contention for the playoffs spots. So far, only Central Delhi Kings have cemented their place in playoffs with seven wins from eight games.
