India vs England Test series is scheduled to start from June 20.

Former India cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu believes that Virat Kohli will make a retirement u-turn from Tests if someone from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) communicate with him that the country needs him for the upcoming red-ball series against England.

Kohli has reportedly communicated with the BCCI that he is unlikely to be available for the upcoming five-Test match series against England and the last Test in Australia during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 was his last assignment in whites. In the exclusive conversation with Sports Tak, Sindhu reckons that Kohli's participation is essential if in England.

"A person who can play despite his father's demise can play for Delhi and score 90 runs, can sacrifice anything for India. You need to have a conversation with him. Kohli's inclusion in India's squad for the England series is mandatory, because it would be a tough Test for the team" Sidhu told Sports Tak.

"Even Today, he respects everyone on the board and is someone who communicates with him that you have to do it for the nation, India needs you, I can guarantee you 200 per cent, it's in his character" Sidhu added

The upcoming five-Test match series between India and England is scheduled to start from June 20, and the Men in Blue will feature a new captain as regular skipper Rohit Sharma has also announced his retirement from the longest format of the game before the upcoming assignment.

Sports Tak earlier reported that Shubman Gill will be India's next red-ball captain and Rishabh Pant will be his deputy. This will be India's first Test assignment after the humiliating defeat in Australia during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

BCCI are yet to announce India's squad for the mega event and according to sources close to Sports Tak, the squad will be announced on May 16 or 17.
